As a transportation and warehousing service provider since 1969, The Rosedale Group is a privately-held, family-owned Canadian company that has grown to 14 terminals with a fleet of 50 straight trucks, 500 tractors and 1400 trailers that are operated and supported by over 800 employees. Our proud history of continuously improving our people resources, equipment, terminal network and technology has enabled us to deliver effective transportation, warehouse management, logistics, tracking and billing services for our customers. When the time came to replace our aging Nortel PBX communications system, we turned to technology partner EvergreenTel to install a next-generation platform that would be simple to use, provided the features and flexibility we were looking for and was expandable as we continue to grow our operations.
Rolling-out the E-MetroTel UCx platform proved to be the ideal choice, helping us move to a single, scalable centralized SIP-based Unified Communications server platform that replaces our Norstar and BCM systems in regional offices as well as a CS 1000 in our head office supporting a large Symposium call center. With the migration to UCx, we have been able to retain the existing functionality while adding new applications such as follow-me mobility, remote office calling, unified messaging, voice conferencing, call recording and IVR, call center reporting and agent wallboard. No other solution could deliver the same functionality. Centrally managing the UCx over SIP trunks and retaining our Nortel digital and IP phones has significantly reduced our communications total cost of ownership. We are delighted with the roll-out and already planning the migration of more locations with intent to deploy UCx to all sites in North America.
